About The Red Couch
The Red Couch is an Internet talk show created by Rachel Schaeffer featuring women and men who share their stories and secrets for living a happy and successful life. The mission of The Red Couch is to inspire people to feel connected and to celebrate their power. It aims to make a positive impact on viewers by empowering and inspiring them to not only survive, but also thrive.
The concept for The Red Couch grew out of hundreds of interviews for Rachel’s upcoming book, The Juicy Secrets Sisterhood. Wanting a venue to share the voices of other women, she created The Red Couch, which has since expanded to include interviews with men.
One of the highlights of the show includes Mother’s Day specials with such inspiring men as former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Shelton Quarles and King of the High Wire/Daredevil Nik Wallenda.
Taping began in the fall of 2011 and the show launched on May 9, 2012 on YouTube. The Red Couch is also a regularly scheduled radio program on WSLR.org, Sarasota’s community radio station, 96.5.
